Management of Technology (50% of total)
1) Using relevant notes and background from lectures where appropriate, discuss innovative technology management from the perspective of either:
a) renewable energy (choose a specific type such as wind, solar etc.) or
b) the development of electric vehicles.
2) You should look at your chosen technology from the perspective of one of the leading companies in the field.
3) You will also supply a reasoned description of where the future might lie for the chosen topic by developing a technology roadmap for the next 5 years.
Your report should include the application of theoretical concepts to the management of technology in practice and seek to show evaluation and critique. Use of tools and models to illustrate your answer is encouraged but you should actually use the tools and models, do not simply replicate outline models used in lecture materials – that would gain zero extra marks but appropriate use of tools could improve the mark. It may be useful to consider the following as a minimum that will be sufficient to attract a passing mark:
